Since 1999, Meishide has been inspired by love. The founder, Johann von Strauß, met his wife, Nami Takahashi, while studying abroad at Caltech. Her Japanese heritage instilled a deep love for the culinary art, which is reflected in our brand name "Meishide" – a combination of "Meishi" (meaning rice/meal in Japanese) and "DE" for German engineering. After she passed away from cancer, Johann founded Meishide to honor her legacy. Our precision-crafted cookware blends strength and soul, made to honor loved ones and every meal shared.
