Acerpure Cozy F1: pros and cons

Pros

• Fine speed control: 12 touch activated speed settings make it easier to find a comfortable level than a fan with only a few speeds.
• Low power draw at gentle speeds: Acer lists power consumption as low as 1.18W, with about 25W at rated power.
• Useful for moving air around a room: Its focused airflow and oscillation are designed to circulate air, including alongside air conditioning. The head swings left to right automatically; up and down adjustment is manual.
• Quiet on the lowest setting: Acer lists 25 dB at minimum speed. The AF551 spec page also lists a timer, quiet and turbo modes, and a magnetic remote.
• Compact footprint: It stands about 1 metre tall and has a base roughly 33 cm wide.

Cons

• The strongest setting may be loud: Acer lists noise up to 60 dB, so the 25 dB figure applies only at the lowest speed.
• It circulates air; it doesn’t cool it: By itself, it won’t lower room temperature like an air conditioner. Its focused airflow may also feel different from the wider breeze of a conventional fan.
• The advertised reach is inconsistent: Acer’s Philippines store says up to 15 metres, while Acerpure’s product page says up to 25 metres. Treat both as manufacturer claims; how well it works will depend on your room and setup.
