Tapo C216 Pros ✅

📹 Clear 2K 3MP video – sharp enough for monitoring doors, pets, people, and outdoor areas.

🔄 Wide pan-and-tilt coverage – rotates 360° horizontally and 152° vertically, with automatic motion tracking.

🌙 Color night vision – built-in spotlights provide colored footage at night, while infrared night vision reaches up to around 12 meters.

🌧️ Indoor and outdoor use – IP65 water- and dust-resistant design makes it suitable for rooms, garages, balconies, and covered outdoor areas.

🧠 Smart detection – includes motion, person, baby-crying, and camera-tampering detection, plus customizable activity zones.

💾 Flexible recording – supports microSD cards up to 512GB, Tapo Care cloud storage, RTSP, and ONVIF.

🎤 Two-way audio – built-in microphone and speaker let you speak through the camera.

🚨 Sound and light alarm – useful for warning intruders or getting someone’s attention.

🏠 Flexible mounting – can be placed on a table or mounted on a wall, ceiling, or pole.

Tapo C216 Cons ❌

📡 Only supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi – there is no 5GHz Wi-Fi support.

🔌 Not wireless or battery-powered – it needs continuous power through its USB-C cable and adapter.

🌐 No Ethernet port – it relies entirely on your Wi-Fi connection.

💳 Some cloud features require Tapo Care – cloud recording and notification snapshots may need a paid subscription.

💾 MicroSD card not included – you must purchase storage separately.

🔍 Not 4K – 2K is good for daily security, but very distant faces or license plates may still lack fine detail.

💡 Color night vision uses visible spotlights – helpful for detail, but less discreet when monitoring at night.

The Tapo C216 is a feature-packed indoor/outdoor camera with good 2K quality, wide coverage, motion tracking, local storage, and color night vision. Its biggest weaknesses are the lack of 5GHz Wi-Fi, Ethernet, and battery operation.
